AS AUSTRALIA’S FIRSTmember-owned wellbeing company, Australian Unity is committed to ‘Real Wellbeing’ for all Australians.

Its promise of Real Wellbeing means so much more than simply physical health: it’s about standards of living and feeling safe in your home. It’s your personal relationships and being connected to your community. It’s about what you want to achieve in life, while having the security to get out there and do what makes you happy.

With a track record of having delivered health, wealth and care services since 1840, Australian Unity has grown and changed over the years. Today, it supports around 38,000 home care service customers.

Nick O’Callaghan, Executive General Manager for Home Care Services, said “with a focus on wellbeing, we provide a range of high-quality support services, from dignified personal care and help around the home, through to companionship and in-house health care services like nursing.”

Care workers are carefully selected for their compassion and commitment to delivering high-quality, professional care. Before they can start working with Australian Unity, they are provided with weeks of additional training and receive ongoing guidance throughout their employment to ensure they deliver consistent excellent service.

Throughout the pandemic, Australian Unity has continued to support customers and is proud of its COVID-safe measures, such as:

  • low contact sign-up procedures
  • making vaccination a condition of employment for frontline workers
  • screening customers with questions before every appointment
  • providing staff with additional training on personal protective equipment (PPE) and infection control, and
  • equipping care workers with PPE.
