Mercy Health Home Care: Continuing a tradition of compassion and excellence

For almost 20 years, Mercy Health Home Care has been a leader in providing outstanding services to older Australians and others in the community in need of support.
Mercy Health’s approach is deeply rooted in the legacy of the Sisters of Mercy, founded by Catherine McAuley in 1831. Inspired by their dedication to caring for the sick, elderly, and vulnerable, Mercy Health Home Care continues to embody these values, delivering compassionate care to people in their own homes across Australia.
At Mercy Health Home Care, we believe everyone deserves care that is not only respectful but truly centred around our clients’ unique needs and preferences. Our approach is focused on supporting people to stay independent for as long as possible through our personally tailored, high-quality services and through fostering genuine, lasting relationships with both clients and their families.
Our wider range of services includes personal care, assistance with household tasks, nursing care, social support, respite care for carers and family members, support for people living with dementia, and allied health services.
Government-funded programs are a key part of Mercy Health Home Care’s offering, including Home Care Packages (Support at Home from 1 November 2025), the Commonwealth Home Support Program, Veterans’ Home Care, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs Community Nursing Program, and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). These programs help older Australians and other people in the community to remain at home while receiving the care they need. For those not eligible for government funding — or seeking additional support —private, fee-paying services are also available, including respite care (short-term stays) in some of our residential aged care homes. This flexibility ensures we can deliver high-quality care for everyone.
Navigating government-funded care can be complex, but Mercy Health Home Care’s Care Advisory Service is here to help. This free service provides expert guidance to help clients and their families understand eligibility, explore care options, and access support through My Aged Care, the government’s aged care portal.
Mercy Health Home Care’s impact extends beyond in-home care, delivering services to clients who need daily living, community participation, and other therapy supports — all of which help them to live fuller, more independent lives.
“Mercy Health Home Care services encompass the whole person — their physical, emotional, spiritual and social wellbeing,” says Karlie Keck, General Manager Home Care. “Being recognised by Reader’s Digest with the Quality Service Award is a testament to the dedication of our skilled and compassionate team. Every staff member, from nurses and care workers to care advisors and admin, plays a vital role in delivering the highest standard of care.”
